Please be aware, that the code basis of the "Hello World" module linked above is outdated. The "Hello World" module should therefore no longer be used as baseline for own modules. If you would like to update the "Hello World" module, feel free to do post your contribution in this module thread.

The "Module Primer" was started to replace the "Hello World" module. The "module primer" is an open community project, open to everybody who wants to contribute. For details visit the German or English module threads.

The "Module Primer" will provide the following development steps:

  • Step 1 (EN, DE): Basics (development platform, introduction of basic module files)
  • Step 2a (EN, DE): Purpose of module CSS files (usage of frontend.css and backend.css)
  • Step 2b (EN, DE): Adding multi-lingual support
  • Step 2c (EN, DE): Using template engines (separate PHP code and HTML markup)
  • Step 3: Interacting with the database (what are add.php, delete.php, install.php, uninstall.php for)
  • Step 4: Basics on module security (permission, authentification, XSS, SQL injection etc.)

Allows the admin to send massmails to all registeres users or user defined mailgroups. Supported languages: English, German, French, Danish, Spanish, Swedish, Dutch. See the module thread of the WB forum for further information.

Note: If you have installed the massmail module, you may want to check out the newsletter snippet which allows to sign for a newsletter which will be send via the massmail module.

The PostIts module allows to send short text messages (PostIts) to other users or groups. PostIts automatically appear in the Website Baker frontend and/or backend, when the recipient is loged in. PostIts make use of the jQuery and jQuerUI framework to handle AJAX and DOM operations.

Supported languages: English and German. See the English or German module thread in WB forum for further information, or read the HTML README file included with the module.

Requirements: Website Baker version 2.7 or higher. One needs to add some code into the template index.php file to get PostIts working in the frontend. For the backend, one needs to modify two core files. The required modifications are explained in the Readme file which is included in the installation package.
